Today, I wanted to write about actually, Wearing Fast Fashion, Whether It’s Second - Hand or Already Bought.
If you have made the decision not to buy from fast fashion brands, should you still be able to wear fast fashion as long as it’s from a thrift store, second hand from a friend, or if it was an already bought piece of clothing? The answer is: yes! If you choose not to buy from fast fashion brands, that means you don’t want to support that brand, so if you get it from a thrift store you are in no way supporting that brand. If you already have a piece/pieces from a fast fashion brand, but it’s already been bought, you can definitely still wear it! If you were to throw away all your all - ready bought fast fashion clothes, you would be contributing to the waste that fast fashion is already making! In conclusion, as long as you are not buying clothes directly from a fast fashion brand, it’s okay to wear them.
Some people, after knowing that you made the choice not to buy from these types of brands, may not understand why you are still wearing fast fashion. It may be frustrating when people don’t understand, but all you have to say to them is one of these three things, that you are: wearing fast fashion but it’s thrifted, wearing fast fashion but it’s second hand, or wearing fast fashion but it’s already been bought. If they still don’t understand, just explain to them that wearing fast fashion is still okay, as long as you don't buy it directly from that brand/store.
